Physiotherapy consists of many different modalities for treatment of pain, inflammation, muscular injuries, restricted range of motion, and strengthening. These include:

Ultrasound
Ultrasound therapy may be used to improve circulation and aid the cycle of healing. High-frequency sound waves are used to increase blood flow, break up scar tissue, relax muscle spasms, reduce swelling, and massage damaged tissues.

Electrical Muscle Stimulation
With electrical muscle therapy, tiny electrical impulses are passed through areas of chronic and acute pain. The impulses increase blood flow and stimulate the body's natural painkillers to provide drug-free relief to the patient.

Acupuncture/Acupressure
Acupuncture and acupressure has been used for more than 4,000 years in China. Acupuncture uses tiny needles to allow the body's natural energy flow to move through your body with ease, helping to relieve pain and irritation. Acupressure has the same benefits, but does not use needles in treatment.

Massage/Trigger Point Therapy
Massage and trigger point therapy involves applying hands on techniques to specific muscles to alleviate pain. It can reduce swelling and stiffness, neuromuscular pain, relax musculature, increase range of motion, prevent and break up scar tissue, relieve tension and increase circulation, flexibility, and coordination.

Exercises And Stretching
Rehabilitation exercises strengthen and stabilize injured and weakened tissues throughout the body. Regular strengthening exercises enable you to reinforce areas that have been functioning poorly and causing pain. By performing these exercises regularly, you will build strength in soft tissues and avoid the same problems from showing up again in the future. Stretching increases flexibility and relaxes muscle tissue in order to aid in the healing process.
